ASB Yate Shopping Centre

Over this summer a large group of youths have caused ASB in and around Yate shopping Centre mostly around Tesco store.

This includes large gatherings, climbing on the shop roofs and running in and out of shops as well as shouting abuse at members of the public.

ASB continues at a manageable level here and police continue to issue conditions to offenders under the ASB legislation.

  • 4 April 2024

We have continued with patrol in the shopping centre and also issued banning letters to some youths for recent incidents and will look to progress our ASB powers if needed moving forward.

  • 21 September 2023

Please close as no longer a priority

  • 27 July 2023

This has been reviewed and is no longer a priority. ASB will always be an issue at Yate shopping centre and police will continue to monitor, but it does not need to remain as a priority. The ABS in this area has greatly reduced due to joint partnership working and police ASB legislation.

  • 24 June 2023

2 Youths have now been given injunctions with conditions. Other youths continue to engage with police and we look to further reduce ASB in this area.

  • 26 January 2023

We have worked with Yate Security in recent months and increased patrol to target offenders. We are also working with the police Anti-Social Behaviour team to progress to the next process in taking legal action against a few individuals.

This is very much an on going operation.
