Illegal substance use in public car parks

While on patrol recently, an officer came across a substantial amount of Nitrous Oxide cannisters in a public car park in Nailsea.

Nitrous Oxide is commonly known as “Nos” or “Laughing gas”

From the 8th of November 2023, Nitrous Oxide has been classed as a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 if it is, or likely to by wrongfully inhaled.

If you find any Nitrous Oxide cannisters, please report this to the police via 101 or online. This can give local officers more awareness of Anti-social behaviour hot spots in the local area that may need more attention.
