Agricultural plant theft

Items of plant and machinery are hugely expensive and easy to sell for profit and often targeted by organised criminal groups. Agriculture vehicle theft cost £9.1m. (Source NFU Mutual rural crime report 2021)

We will work with our partners in the Rural Crime Team to visit victims and farms, offering crime prevention advice and target hardening.

We will promote good preventative measures and practices surrounding securing agricultural  plant and machinery to prevent the theft of these items.

We will be conducting frequent patrols in rural areas across the beat throughout the day and night, proactively targeting suspicious vehicles and and developing intelligence.
