We will continue to promote farm and horse watch through our monthly visits to Cutcombe Market and by targeted visits to the many Exmoor Farms.

There was an attempt theft of a quad bike and other property at Wootton Courtenay and another just over the border Devon when the farmer was alerted by the tracker fitted to his quad and he was able to disrupt the the thieves.
The following message has been put out by our Rural Affairs unit in response to the most recent incident.
Please be aware that there have been 4 incidents for the Exmoor beat in 3 weeks – 2 thefts of quads and 2 attempts. These are valuable assets, as is your other agriculture plant and machinery & trailers. Please review your security in reference to your machinery and agriculture vehicles. Consider contacting the rural crime team or your local Policing team for any advice needed.

A quad bike has been stolen this week from Wheddon Cross area. Please check your security and consider securing such items with a ground anchor or similar. We are always keen to sign new members to Farmwatch, Horsewatch and Neighbourhood Watch.
