    1. Unless otherwise expressly stated, copyright, database right or similar rights in all material presented on this Website (“the Site”) including graphical images, text, video clips, reprographics, sounds, demos, patches and other files is owned and or controlled by Avon and Somerset Constabulary (“the Constabulary”) and is protected or covered by copyright, trade mark, intellectual property law and other proprietary rights.
    2. You have limited permission to display, print or download extracts from these pages for your personal non-commercial and non-profit use only and you shall not be entitled to commercialise any such material in any way.
    3. Any copies of the pages of the Site which you save to disk or to any other storage system or medium may only be used for subsequent viewing purposes or to print extracts for personal use.
    4. You may not whether directly or indirectly including through the use of any program create a database in an electronic or other form by downloading and storing all or any part of the pages from this Site without our prior written consent save as expressly authorised by an agreement in writing between us.

  3. Data security
    1. We are strongly committed to the protection of your privacy online and accordingly, we take protective measures to protect the personal information provided to us by you. We also take further measures to comply with what we can do with personal information we obtain from you.
    2. The Constabulary will not disclose your names or other personal information or data to any third party without your express consent. Where you are registered with a Community Alerts group we will only disclose your data and information without your consent where it is necessary to police : –
      1. recognised Local and Regional Neighbourhood Watch (“NHW”) Associations and Support Groups
      2. NHW scheme members and co-ordinators
      3. recognised national NHW’s Associations and Support Groups
    3. We may disclose anonymised data about NHW schemes to National NHW support networks (such as the ‘Our Watch’ website), where members of the public may find local NHW schemes. Your details such as names or other personal data will be anonymised and therefore will not be disclosed.
    4. The Constabulary will use your data in the following ways:
      1. To send you information you have requested.
      2. Using your postcode to intelligently target our content to ensure that members only receive content relevant for your location. Your postcode may be subject to anonymised research for example, to research the areas where members live, as well as what sorts of people join our site as members.
    5. If you choose to share :
      1. Your full address – it may be used to send letters to you.
      2. Your mobile number – it may be used to send text messages to you and police officers and staff who could look up numbers to ring individuals.
      3. Your landline number – it may be used by police officers and staff to send ‘voice messages’ via telephone and or to contact individuals.
      4. Your age, gender, marital status, ethnic background, disability – may be used to intelligently target messages, as well as anonymised research into the makeup of the subscriber base.
