Man charged following distraction burglary in Minehead

A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a distraction burglary in Minehead in which a wallet and jewellery were stolen from an elderly man.

Following an investigation, Kallum Nolan, of Hawthorn Road, Minehead, has been charged with one count of burglary in relation to the incident in the Parkhouse Road area on Sunday 26 May.

He’s further charged with 11 counts of fraud, relating to the alleged use of bank cards taken in the burglary at cashpoints and retail premises, as well as separate charges of shoplifting and common assault, relating to an incident at the Co-op store in Minehead on Tuesday 12 March.

He appeared at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (June 26) and was released on bail to attend his next hearing on Monday 12 August.
