Emergency SMS using Relay UK

If you come across, or are involved in an emergency, you can use your phone to text the emergency services for help using Relay UK’s emergencySMS service.

An emergency is:

  • when life is at risk
  • people are trapped or in trouble
  • a crime is taking place
  • someone is hurt and needs medical attention
  • there is a fire

You MUST register your mobile phone number before using this service.

Send a text message to the number 999, with the word ‘Register’, and follow the simple instructions.
