Internal stop and search scrutiny panel
In October 2019 we created an internal stop search scrutiny panel, in collaboration with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).
The panel reviews samples of searches to ensure stop and search is being used legitimately, identify best practice and suggest areas of improvement.
The internal stop and search scrutiny panel is separate to the Scrutiny of Police Powers Panel appointed by the OPCC. Find out more about the Scrutiny of Police Powers Panel on the OPCC website.
