I am emailing to request the number of tool thefts reported for the year 2023/2024. Could you also let me know how many of these tool thefts were from a vehicle?
Response
We have undertaken two separate searches of our crime recording system in relation to your request, for 2023 and 2024:
- A search for all theft of a motor vehicle offences where property has been recorded as stolen under the property type, Machinery or Tools.
- A search for all theft and burglary offences where property has been recorded as stolen under the property type, Machinery or Tools.
Please find attached a .csv file containing the information identified from these searches. This shows the number of occurrences and a count of property stolen for each month, for both searches.
