Please find attached all the recorded information Avon and Somerset Constabulary hold on E-Scooter related incidents. This has been broken down by the linked offence category.

At this time, Avon and Somerset Constabulary do not have a central recording category for electric scooters/’E-scooters’. The attached information is therefore based on a key word search of all incident and crime logs containing the word “scooter”, which are then manually reviewed for relevance.

The attached information is therefore subject to inaccuracies inherent with this type of data extraction and are in no way a definitive number. For example, if the key word ‘E-scooter’ has not been mentioned in the crime report the incident will not have been included in the data.

Please also note that for the majority of incidents captured, e-scooters are simply mentioned within the crime log rather than the focus of (or reason for) the offence. For example, an offender may have committed assault and was recorded exiting the scene on an E-Scooter. This will then be captured under ‘assault’ in the attached document. The data is therefore not necessarily reflective of e-scooter incidents, but capture those incidents where an e-scooter was involved in any capacity.
