  I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act, can you please provide the following information

1/ The number of crimes involving individuals under the age of 18, either as suspects or victims in the last three years?  [Between April 6 – April 5 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023,24]  Can the figures be broken down by year and separated by the number of victims and the number of suspects. 

 

The tables below show the total number of crimes where the recorded age of the victim and suspect respectively was under 18, for each financial year requested.  In searching for this information we have excluded results with unknown victim or suspect details.

1a) Of those, how many pertain to violent crimes? Broken down by year and separated by victim / suspect.

*By violent crimes, I refer to any act that physically harms or threatens to harm another person,  or includes the use of a weapon. Such as assault, gun/knife crimes, sexual violence etc. 

 

Please see attached spreadsheets showing a breakdown of all crimes in each financial year, by offence type.  This will enable you to identify those offences that fall within your definition of violent offences.  A summary of those offences recorded under the offence group Violence Against the Person has been provided below:
