Jon says:

“I first moved to Bristol at the age of 19 as a university student and, having decided to become a police officer, wanted to stay in the city and area that I had quickly come to enjoy.

“Starting out as a police constable in south Bristol, I worked in Response and Neighbourhood Policing before moving into a career in investigations.

“I have had the good fortune of meeting people from many different walks of life and gaining insights into the ways they live, work and spend their time to understand what is important to them. Policing is a real honour.

“Being Deputy Chief Constable is about ensuring we are on a path to deliver outstanding policing for everyone.

“It is about ensuring that our values – caring, inclusive, learning and courageous – of which I am a huge supporter, are reflected in how we look after our communities and our workforce. Values-based leadership has been very important to me throughout my career.

“I take real pride in how we police; continuously looking for ways to improve and providing an excellent quality of service. I am inspired by the people I have met during my career who drive my commitment to ensuring we deliver outstanding policing for everyone.”
