The Scientific Investigation department is an independent section of Headquarters CID providing a comprehensive crime scene investigation, evidence recovery and identification service. Thousands of criminals are identified in the Avon and Somerset force area every year through the appliance of science and technology by a team of highly qualified forensic practitioners working within the Scientific Investigations Department.
