Since 1995, every British Crime Survey has shown a fall in overall crime – yet around two-thirds of people believe that crime has risen in the past two years. This lack of confidence and sense of insecurity can be damaging to local neighbourhoods and to the quality of life for local people. We need to create Safer, Stronger Neighbourhoods in which you are safe and feel safe.
